The screen that shows if you have USB and such plugged in. I have the NIC cable plugged into the router and confirmed that it works, put it in the laptop and I get blinky lights, put back ino the NIC on the motherboard and nothing.
Have checked to see hidden devices in device manager? Is it possible that on my board the network adapter is dead?

I tried to install the driver from the site and from CD but in both case seems they are not able to identify the device on my board. Net graph in tf2 is full of blank spaces I can run 32 player game with bots fine! Already tried latest killer nic drivers from site and msi site along with atheros drivers chip is based on. I received this motherboard in the mail yesterday ,replacing a version silently older 1 year older than the one I just bought.
Just try the latest update for a87-g45 network driver: Search Google, many threads. When trying to install the killer drivers I get an error message that no hardware exist to install the driver for. There is a solid orange light on ethernet port.
And in BIOS it seems enabled. Try uninstalling the nic from device manager and all drivers whilst removing from the system.

O it is an hardware problem or software problem?? Only latest linux kernel support e killer adapter. How can I show the idden devices in devices manager? I got to thinking i might need to re-install windows but before I went that route I went into the motherboard BIOS and look at mother layout of the devices. In device manager as you can see in the screenshoot the lan is present hidden as disconnected: In many distros it is not identified, must use manual installing. MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Motherboard Drivers
z87-gg45 Windows started up just fine and I expected to see that I needed to install the chipset, installed the updated chip set but the device manager does NOT see the network adapter. Please login or register.
It shows the NIC as being disconnected. Is it possible tha my power supply I'm not sure it is working well is not enought powerful to let the network adapter works? Any posts are my own views!
